Family Fun Day 2015On May 23, 2015, NRMSS Alumni Association collaborated with Georgetown United/5-Star Promotion, an Atlanta-based Caribbean non-profit organization that includes two of our fellow alums, Andre Richards and Neraun Knights.  They hosted a family fun day with a focus of giving back to the kids in the c ommunity.  It was a real “fun day” which was enjoyed by all!  The kids took part in events such as sack race, egg and spoon race and three-legged race and won many prizes by either competing or by raffle.  Some even received awards for their academic performances at school.  A special award was given to Keziah Knights, daughter of alum Neraun Knights, for her consistent and exemplary performance from Middle School through college.  Keziah continues to hold a 4.0 GPA in college.  Best wishes to Keziah as she enters into her senior year in September.

We applaud Georgetown United/5-Star Promotion for their tremendous efforts in giving back to their community.  We would like to follow suite and host a similar event in New York next year.

Thank you to all alums who visited with us, including Gordon Mitchell, Robin Canzius, Ricardo Straker, Maxim Thompson Abdol, Sharon Van Cooten, Carol Hinds Yearwood, Coleine R. Wright-Baker, Amanda Eastman-Robinson, Gary Gaskin, Yon Burrows and Sydney Sargeant.  It was a pleasure sharing our accomplishments with everyone.  Special thanks to alums, Dave Canzius, Allison Smith and Blossom Williams for their tremendous team work in making the fun day a success and to Annette Abrams Brooks for assisting at our table.  We were a united front in Atlanta!

Audrey Fredericks Edwards (President) and Nalini Singh (Director/Public Relations Officer) met with the Guyana International Football Association, another non-profit organization who supports schools in Guyana by helping them develop successful student-athletes.  We will be working with them to obtain assistance with soccer gears/equipment for our students at Multi.
